Bishop Greco and a Pallium

As Bishop of Alexandria, Bishop Greco never warranted wearing a Pallium, reserved to Archbishops with suffragan sees. However, when only a Deacon, Rev. Mr. Charles Greco went to Rome on a special trip to retrieve a Pallium for his new Archbishop.  During the Great War, he went from office to office, cardinal to cardinal, until finally after more than half a month he was received by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI and a Pallium was sent back with this young ordinand.

In addition he had the opportunity to be convicted as a spy, visit his family home, cross treturous waters in a sail boat in the dark of night, and much more.  Just in one chapter (VII) of his memoirs!
