Fruits of Anglicanorum coetibus

There is a wonderful post here from National Catholic Register (which reminds me, I have their latest edition still sitting on my bed).  The blog post speaks of the recent decision in England that the Church of England will move forward with their attempted ordination of women bishops, despite the objection of orthodox Anglicans.  The gist of the article is that because the Church of England decided not to allow a two-tiered system of woman accepting and non-accepting factions (a house divided cannot stand), that the Anglicans who have wanted to maintain allegiance to Canterbury, but wished for orthodoxy, no longer have the fall-back option of not accepting women as (supposed) bishops.

I have always loved that Fr. Z over at WDTPS refers to Pope Benedict XVI as “The Pope of Christian Unity.”  I hate the idea that the united Church which Christ envisioned would have to come from disunity in other ecclesial communities, but we all pray for true unity of the Body of Christ within the Church.
