Burying the Dead (in Cleveland and beyond)

Rev. Mr. Greg Kandra at the Deacon’s Bench blog has posted this very sad article.  Death is the only certain thing in life, taxes not withstanding.  One day, we shall all meet our maker, and before that, we will breathe our last.  It is a corporal work of mercy to bury the dead.  The Callistian Guild seems to be doing a great job for the absolutely poorest of poor.  Read about it here.

For those of you Catholic men out there, who are considering your family’s future, I would recommend joining the Knights of Columbus.  Their life insurance plans are amazing, and fraternally priced.  The Order was founded by Fr. Michael J. McGivney in 1882 with one of the primary principles of being to take care of the widows and children of Catholic men who die in the harsh working class world.  Additionally, you enjoy the benefits of a fraternal network that provides spiritual growth and community.  Check out a council near you at www.KofC.org.
