Our Lady and Sheen

Of the Cross and of feet

Today, Good Friday’s Passion and Veneration of the Cross brought a surprise.  Our priest and his servers for today were happy to discover that the priest, in veneration of the Cross, was to remove his chasuble and SHOES.  How amazing is Mother Church.  This practice is one that brought back the idea of the pilgrimage.  The priest leading his flock to the wood of the Cross in a humble fashion, to the point that he was not even wearing shoes.

I believe that this might be the greatest liturgical “surprise” I’ve ever seen.

I pray that you have had a Holy Good Friday, and that Holy Saturday will bring you closer to our Lord.
